True Blood

Ok...so I'm hooked...on a new show on HBO. It's about vampires living in today's society. It's about social unrest and labels and racism. I'm in love...
Sookie played by Anna Paquin is the main character. She has the ability to read other's minds. The other lead played by Stephen Moyer, Bill is a vampire...one who lost a lot when he gave over his life to the other side...in the Civil War, without consent. When he was a soldier during that era, he went to a woman's home and knocked on her door, asking for food and solace. What he left with was another perspective...a new life in the undead world. His life was taken from him for an act of kindness. The woman (who just also happened to be a vampiress took his life because he showed kindness to her...her other male subjects were killed for their intimation of rape).
So with that little background, why I am so deeply in love?
It's sexy.
It's real.
It's about the longing that all of us sometimes feel to change our lives; follow a different path; love someone that others might feel is wrong for us...
If you haven't already discovered it, first check it out from the very beginning, for without background you might perceive it as a oversexed, bloody, gory mess.
If you see it from the beginning, you will find out it's a true love story and one that shouldn't be missed.
